"My house utility bills dropped from £10-15 per day to just 2-3 pence per day” after working with Green Home Systems
Local residents of Millport recently had the opportunity to meet with Renewable Energy experts and learn how they can save money by making their homes greener.
On a mission to spread awareness of available funding and energy-efficient benefits to householders across the country, Green Home Systems (and the Duracell Bunny) arrived on the Isle of Cumbrae to host Everything Energy at Garrison House.
A Partnership for Change
Joined by renewable energy partners, Duracell Energy (Battery Storage Solutions) and Vaillant Group (Air Source Heat Pump Provider), Green Home Systems knew the importance of having all service provider representatives on hand to advise local residents of their product choices based specifically on their house type and age, as well as making sure they knew about available funding in Scotland.
Graeme Carruthers, Commercial Director of Green Home Systems, comments on the alliance:
“We are thrilled to have partnered with Duracell Energy and Vaillant Group. Their technology is second-to-none, and the Green Home Systems team are best placed to leverage their innovative solutions and deliver bespoke, local services to householders throughout Scotland.
More than that, we have interchangeable values and our product and services at the core are built with the same mission: to eradicate fuel poverty in Scotland and create a greener, cheaper future of living.”
Additionally, the event spotlighted the progress of the Carbon Neutral Islands (CNI) Project for Cumbrae, managed by Community Development Officer (Cumbrae) Scott Watson.
Hear from local resident, Luigi Giorgetti, and how he slashed his energy bills
Customers also came along, including Luigi Giorgetti, who has been a long-standing member of the Millport community. He shared his positive experience with Green Home Systems:
“Since my solar panel, air source heat pump and battery storage system was installed, I haven’t looked back. It has been a godsend, especially in the current economic climate. My electricity bills have dropped from £10-£15 per day to just two to 2-3 pence per day.”
What does Green Home Systems do?

What funding is available?
Gordon McDill, Sales Director, explains the funding available for householders across Scotland:
“There’s two different aspects to government funding.
On the one hand, you have private funding from Home Energy Scotland (HES) which is for able-to-pay bodies.
A customer can be entitled to support from HES and receive funding to install an Air Source Heat Pump up to the value of £15,000 if you stay in a town, or £16,500 if you are in a rural area as there is an uplift for that.
You can also receive up to £1,500 funding for loft installation or up to £10,000 of a grant and loan for internal wall insulation.
On the other hand, householders on benefits and/or low income can receive funding.
We can qualify the house and the individual to ensure they get the best support required to ultimately eradicate fuel poverty across Scotland.”
